Kevin started Optimum Studios in July of 1996. He was a one-man show and it stayed that way for a while during which his primary focus was art glass. Over time his interests grew and along with different opportunities Kevin started getting involved in glass and metal. Slowly but surely the team started coming together, to help develop the business and the projects started growing along with many new relationships. After years of contracting our metal work out it became clear that both architectural glass and metal was something we enjoyed doing and wanted to do more of. The birth of our metal fabrication department started in 2014, which now affords us the ability to offer full architectural glass and metal packages for residential, commercial and furniture applications.
Since then we have added a number of team members to the family and consistently strive to grow, develop and challenge one another to not only becoming better at our craft, but better at doing life. Our success over the years is directly related to our team and their everyday involvement in our projects and process. Everyday we have the opportunity to collaborate with the most talented and creative folks throughout our community. We’re fortunate that our clients and piers share the same taste in minimal and clean design when it comes to all things architectural. We care about our clients and piers – to us it’s more than just a business transaction, it’s a relationship. Optimum Studios was and will continue to be built on relationships.
Kevin, the master, the guru of glass, started what we now know as Optimum Studios in 1996 and never looked back. He spends most days at the shop helping plan, coordinate projects and continue to develop Optimum Studios. When he’s not at the shop, Kevin can still be found onsite from time to time leading an install or measure.
Korina has been with Optimum Studios longer than anyone. There’s not a single project we take on that she’s not apart of in some capacity. I’m sure there are days when it’s not easy working with all the fellas but she handles it well and we’re incredibly grateful for all she brings to the team.
Kris is one of our project managers. He has numerous years of experience in the glass industry both residential and commercial. An outgoing, approachable guy, when Kris isn’t at work, he’s living the dream in Squamish.
Dane is one of our project managers, he lines it all up for everyone else to succeed. Through his experience over the years in multiple trades, he has developed an appreciation for quality craftsmanship and integrity. Dane enjoys nearly every sport and has been known to get seasick from time to time.
Tom has been a staple at Optimum Studios for many years. 10 years and counting minus his 1 year holiday, when he’s not working you will find him building one of his many motorcycles. Tom has real great character and if you have ever had the opportunity to meet him on site and work with him I’m sure you can see why he is such an asset to have!
Caleb is one of our fabricators, it should also be noted that he has an unrivalled attention to detail and certainty. He’s truly a dedicated craftsman and brings his best to every project. Caleb enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible and is skilled in nearly every mountainous activity.
Brennan, one of our fabricators, is as quiet as they come unless you’re discussing vehicles or motorcycles. He prides himself on his ability to pack lunches, typically consisting of two bagels. Brennan is a hard and dedicated worker that is currently looking at getting started in his second year at BCIT for welding.
