We worked with the kind folks at Maison D’etre on this project. They had the concept and after a few revisions we were able to have the railing built digitally, ready for fabrication. It was challenging because the metal is solid plate, not hollow HSS, so weight became an issue. It was also powder coated which doesn’t take kindly to onsite welding, so the railing had to be constructed in a way that included a few concealed mechanically fastened joints, which allowed it to be installed in sections. Everyone involved, including Optimum Studios, was very excited about the finished look of the railing when installed and completed.
